0 - אֶפֶס (Efes)
The Word: אֶפֶס
Say it: "EH-fes"
Fun Fact: Means "nothing/zero" Not used much in ancient texts!
Numbers 1-5
1 - אֶחָד (Echad)
The Word: אֶחָד
Reading:
אֶ = "eh"
חָד = "khahd"
Say it: "eh-KHAHD"
Biblical Use: שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל... יְהוָה אֶחָד "Hear O Israel... the LORD is ONE"
2 - שְׁנַיִם (Shnayim)
The Word: שְׁנַיִם
Reading:
שְׁ = "sh"
נַ = "nah"
יִם = "yeem"
Say it: "sh'NAH-yeem"
Note: This is masculine form Feminine: שְׁתַּיִם (shtayim)
3 - שְׁלֹשָׁה (Shloshah)
The Word: שְׁלֹשָׁה
Reading:
שְׁ = "sh"
לֹ = "loh"
שָׁה = "shah"
Say it: "shloh-SHAH"
Remember: Trinity, three patriarchs!
4 - אַרְבָּעָה (Arba'ah)
The Word: אַרְבָּעָה
Reading:
אַרְ = "ar"
בָּ = "bah"
עָה = "ah"
Say it: "ar-bah-AH"
Think: Four corners of earth
5 - חֲמִשָּׁה (Chamishah)
The Word: חֲמִשָּׁה
Reading:
חֲ = "khah"
מִ = "mee"
שָּׁה = "shah"
Say it: "khah-mee-SHAH"

Say it: "shee-SHAH"
Biblical: Six days of creation
7 - שִׁבְעָה (Shiv'ah)
The Word: שִׁבְעָה
Say it: "shiv-AH"
Special: Number of completion Sabbath is day 7!
8 - שְׁמוֹנָה (Shmonah)
The Word: שְׁמוֹנָה
Say it: "shmoh-NAH"
Note: New beginnings
9 - תִּשְׁעָה (Tish'ah)
